Kevin was saved as an eight year old boy in Northern Heights Baptist Church in Opp, Alabama where he grew up. He was called into the ministry at the age of fourteen pursuing the gifts and passion he has for music and worship. He graduated from Samford University in 1994 and then from The Southern Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. During college Kevin served Red Oak Baptist in Florala, Alabama as a summer minister of music, youth and children; First Baptist Church of Center Point, Alabama as an music intern; in the Bullock-Centennial Baptist association as a summer missionary where he met his future wife Kara; and at First Baptist Church Sylvan Springs as their part-time music minister while a senior at Samford University. During Seminary He served as part-time music minister at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. After Seminary Kevin and his family served at First Baptist Surgoinsville, Tennessee as Minister of Music and Education, then served First Baptist Shawmut in Valley, Alabama as Minister of Music and Education; He served Dalraida Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama as Minister of Music before coming to Woodward Avenue Baptist Church in March 2007 as their Worship Pastor.
Kevin and his wife Kara have four children: Matthew, Hannah, Emily, and Haley. We are excited to serve at Woodward Avenue to a great group of folks. We rejoice that God has sent us to North Alabama.
